PD workshops and Make-and-Takes:
November 16, 2023 5:00-6:00 p.m. “Legislative Assembly 101” virtual learning session.- This 60-minute learning session will be held via “Zoom”, and will cover the basics of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba: Who works within it, their roles, and the lawmaking process.
February 24, 2024 10:00-11:00 a.m. “Fishing for Rights and Responsibilities” Make-and-Take workshop
- This workshop will give you the materials, instructions, and time to create a classroom-ready resource to help teach your students about rights and responsibilities.
March 14, 2024 5:00-6:00 p.m. “The Budget Process” virtual learning session
- This 60-minute learning session will be held via “Zoom”, and will delve into how the budget goes through the House, from introduction to passing.
May 11, 2024 10:00-11:00 a.m. “Premiers of Manitoba” Make-and-Take workshop
- This workshop will provide the resources, instructions, and time to create a classroom ready resource that can be used to teach your students about the Premiers of Manitoba since 1870.
August 15th and 16th, 2024 “Learning at the Leg!” Educator Conference
- A 2-day non-partisan educator conference designed to give teachers an inside look at the workings of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Participants will experience workshops, discussion panels, and learning sessions designed to help them bring democracy to life in their classrooms.
